Houndstooth Clothing Company opened for business in a small storefront just off the downtown square in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We've been making shirts for the folks around here ever since.

Started in Fayetteville
Houndstooth started in Fayetteville in 1992. We've been making Arkansas shirts ever since: for Hog fans, river folks, and everybody in between.
Designed around real places
Every design starts somewhere real. An Ozark river, a vintage Hog from the archives, a Saturday on the Hill.
The next chapter's yours

The story behind the company
How we got here
Over the years there were other locations and kiosks across Arkansas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma. Here are the big ones.

1992
Founded in Fayetteville
Michael Baker opened Houndstooth Clothing Company at 29 N Block Ave in downtown Fayetteville — still our flagship. Our t-shirts caught on with University of Arkansas students, and they carried the brand well beyond Fayetteville.

1993
Northwest Arkansas Mall
A kiosk in the Northwest Arkansas Mall, which became a full store in April 2009. It closed in February 2026.

1996
Fort Smith
A kiosk in Central Mall in Fort Smith that later grew into a full store there. Our Fort Smith store is on Rogers Avenue today.

1999
Little Rock and the Razorbacks
A store in Park Plaza Mall in Little Rock — and the year our licensed Razorback line began.

Online
We've been selling online since 2000.

2004
Hot Springs
A store in the Hot Springs Mall.

2016
Pinnacle Hills
A temporary store at Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers. Folks showed up for it, so in summer 2017 we relaunched it as our largest store.

2020
Jonesboro
Our Jonesboro store — first at Indian Creek, later at the Mall at Turtle Creek — closed when a tornado destroyed the mall.

The Promenade at Chenal
Our Little Rock store opened at The Promenade at Chenal.
